Achinta S. McDaniel adapts Romeo & Juliet and West Side Story in Blue13's latest piece, Fire & Powder, premiering at the beautiful Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood for one night only. Hip Hop Capulets battle Bollywood Montagues in the classic tale of star-crossed lovers, portrayed by a cast of more than 20 dancers performing American street dance, funkified Bhangra, contemporary, and other Indian dance styles. Guest choreographers and collaborations with B-Boys, Poppers, Lockers, Bhangra Purists, and modern dancers are at the core of this whirlwind production.
