Jenna Wu-Cardona

Dancer

Jenna Wu-Cardona (she-they) is an artist, dancer, and educator whose multiracial and queer identity is a lens for everything they learn and create. After growing up in the Bay Area, they graduated from Scripps College in Claremont, CA with a degree in Education and strong ties to the 5C dance community. There, she performed works by choreographers Kevin Williamson and Suchi Branfman, and has performed otherwise with Lillian Barbeito, Alex Ketley, and Shenandoah Harris, among others.

In addition to being a performer, Jenna is also a choreographer and visual artist. Her choreography has been described as “virtuosic works of art that embodies complex rhythms and vocabularies in a myriad of spatial pathways and configurations.” They also have their own small business (ig: jwc.glance) as a stained glass artist!

Jenna envisions dance communities and spaces as accessible and supportive areas of play, exploration, and freedom dreaming, so they are excited to work with Blue 13 and Achinta McDaniel to create the dance world of which they dream.
