PLAYDATE is an innovative two-week dance residency program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts that aims to address the lack of visibility of AAPI artists in the dance field. This collaborative program brings together four talented and diverse Asian American Pacific Islander identifying choreographers to create new work and investigate with how to empower AAPI artists through dance. Each choreographer will bring a group of 2-10 dancers to join them in improvisation and discourse with another dance maker’s group, ultimately performing a collaborative work in progress piece.
PLAYDATE takes place from June 12 to June 24, with public performances will be held on June 23 and 24. Join us for an exciting, thought-provoking exploration of dance and culture!
